At CEDHA, we would like to express our gratitude to the Ministry of Production of Jujuy, represented by Juan Carlos Abud Robles and Patricia Ríos, for their dedication to the project we are jointly carrying out for the benefit of the province’s local communities.
We would also like to highlight the support of local producers in lithium-producing areas such as Susques, Huáncar, Puesto Sey, Pastos Chicos, and El Toro. This effort is vital to improving the living conditions of residents in these areas and promoting the development of sustainable economic activities.
At CEDHA, we firmly believe that strengthening traditional and ancestral practices—such as llama herding and shearing—and using them for the creation of local products is key to improving the value chain and, in turn, the quality of life of the communities. Encouraging the appreciation of this ancestral knowledge not only drives the local economy, but also preserves and reinforces the cultural identity of the region's Indigenous peoples.
These types of initiatives are essential within the framework of a just energy transition, which must include an inclusive approach sensitive to the needs and rights of the most vulnerable communities. In this regard, CEDHA remains committed to working in collaboration with local stakeholders, authorities, and organizations to ensure that the development of the lithium industry empowers those who have historically been a fundamental part of the region’s ecosystems and economies.
